Exhaustion is not a status symbol

Do you live here? This is a great commentary on the world in which some of us have taken up permanent residence – or I mean at least six months a year to get the license plate and tax breaks. But there are no tax breaks. We talk about the “woman tax,” but what is the “exhaustion tax?” What really is the cost-benefit of the hamster wheel? Don’t even get me started.

Brainwashing the next generation. This morning I messaged my class alums with the hope that – after a semester of brainwashing – we have a little voice somewhere telling us to save some resources for what I call “euology speech items:” The people, and things, that are talked about in our our eulogy speech. Yes – this is dark / deep, but true. But some of us (muffled cough) need this level of “extreme.” As Cher famously said in Moonstruck, “Snap out of it!”
