Dear Friends of Women Everywhere:

If you are proud of the women in your life, keep reading…

There has been a little confusion about yesterday’s super important holiday. Yesterday was not, I repeat NOT, “Talk Like a Pirate Day”. That is still the regularly-scheduled September 19th.

Yesterday was July 19th—a day that often goes unnoticed.

It was the anniversary of the first Women’s Rights Convention in Seneca Falls. I always picture a bunch of really feisty women saying, “Hey, give us our rights!” But you know, like every great entrepreneur and agent of change, the leaders really struggled with the process.

Now in 2011, everything is totally better, right? In many ways, yes. We hold the majority of higher degrees in the U.S., run and win elections to powerful public offices, and start our own businesses. We are CEOs, Olympic athletes, media moguls, rocket scientists, and nonprofit leaders.

Although we’ve come a long way – only 18 percent of women hold leadership positions across all industry sectors. How did this happen? Is there some secret piece of knowledge that – if we knew it – would help us reach our potential? The answer is actually: YES. Research shows women, starting in our teens, have lower confidence than men. As a result, we tend to limit our opportunities.

Today, I ask you to join me in a new revolution.

Add your name to The Hot Mommas® Project, and join the movement for opportunity for young women around the world.

It’s taken 10 years for us to crack the confidence code at the Hot Mommas Project, and now it’s time to get down to business. Join us as we gather women around the world, and the men who support them, in our Sisterhood of Success—a new group of leaders who believe that a fine combination of mentorship, leadership education, and women helping other women will usher in a new and more confident generation.

Currently, the Hot Mommas Project is the world’s largest women’s case study library for women and girls: role models, anytime, anywhere, online, through teachable stories. This was Phase I. Now, in Phase II, it’s time to make an impact for yourself and for the women in your life.

Here’s what this means: When – in 2010 – the Hot Mommas Project became the world’s largest women’s case study library we did something special: We converted all that data into a proprietary women’s leadership curriculum.  The result is that we can now increase women’s confidence between 10 percent (in half an hour) and 200 percent (in a semester).

Confidence is THE key factor for women. We determined this by hybridizing research across multiple fields including business, linguistics, psychology, health, and HR  fields along with our own research, then teaching it to women, and measuring the results. There are so many things that do and don’t happen without confidence: Promotions, salary increases, support structures at work, work-life balance, the list goes on.

Our award-winning tools are all re-teachable so we can all take them home to daughters, nieces, and friends. THAT’s what’s really behind the Hot Mommas Project Phase II (joining the Sisterhood of Success movement). That is the master plan. Phase I was about collecting data, Phase II is about action. Ambassadors are needed from bookclubs to boardrooms. Please sign up below. We can’t do it without you.

  • Women: Did you know women helping women is the first step? As mentioned above, we have the research to prove it. Throw your hat in the ring, pass this along to four people. Expect cutting edge research, and free downloadable learning tools available only to this list.
  • Men: Did you know it was Frederick Douglass, a former slave and then-editor of a Rochester paper, who persuaded the 1848 crowd to vote in favor of the resolution for women to vote? It takes all of us folks. Together.

Welcome aboard, Hot Mommas and Guys Who Get It. We’ll be in touch with next steps and valuable resources for the women in your life, but for now, thank you for joining this next phase of the project.

Sincerely,

Kathy
