#sisU: Sisterhood University – Fulfill Your Mission in the New Sisterhood of Success

Did you know…that women who have 5 or more mentors feel more successful?

Did you know…that individuals who seek out mentors ascend higher in organizations, and make more money?

But, HOW?

It’s often hard when we feel alone, unsupported, and to think about our true goals – much less pursue them. What are the goals you have left behind, that you are having a tough time driving forward?

On October 9th, you have the opportunity to be part of a breakthrough educational pilot designed specifically to help women work through these issues using proven, repeatable action steps based on 10 years of research.

Summary: The New Sisterhood of Success pilot program will take place October 9th in Washington, DC. The class is based on the research of award-winning educator and curriculum developer, Kathy Korman Frey, founder of the Hot Mommas Project and instructor of one of the top women’s entrepreneurship classes in the world at the George Washington University School of Business, CFEE. Register here, or read more below.

This half-day is designed to develop and set YOUR plan in motion to:

  • Clarify the most important goals in your professional, and possibly personal, life.
  • Find and activate you group of 5 mentors to support the achievement of your goal.
  • Support the pursuit of your goal with leadership exercises for women, based on extensive proprietary research.
  • Follow-through: Secure and protect time for yourself to pursue your goal throughout the year following #sisU.

Guarantee:

  • You will walk out of the session clear, empowered,  and ready to take on the world with a specific list of action steps that you can implement every day and week for the next year.
  • You will engage in a life and career changing experience that is not only felt by you, but also by others in your life.
  • You will leave the session with a set of exclusive tools and templates, as well as access to monthly “mission focus” conference calls to support you in the achievement of your goals.

Research goal, and your role:

The pilot group will help us measure the following:  Can we raise your self-confidence and perceptions of opportunity creation for yourself by 20% or more during the 3.5 hours? See other successful results of Kathy Korman Frey’s classes of women between the ages 18 and 30 (click here). #sisU pilot participants will be part of the first test group to see if these benefits can be extended to a wider age range.

Who: Who should take this class? Women of all ages who want to clarify and catalyze their goals, and help the next generation by passing on their learnings.

When: October 9, 8.30 am to 12 pm

Where: The George Washington University School of Business. in Washington, DC.

Please leave additional feedback – how could this be more interesting for you? THANK YOU! This is a pilot and we need your brain as  part of the launch team for the New Sisterhood of Success!

When: Saturday, October 9 from 8.30 am to 12 noon

Where: The George Washington University School of Business (no streaming)

Cost: This pilot session will be free, with $20 due at registration to cover materials. PLEASE NOTE: In exchange for the free pilot, participants will be required to fill out evaluative survey information on the program, and sign a waiver for use of their image (e.g., video testimonial).

Learning Objectives:

Your Strategy: Because we all need a group of 5 supporters in our professional life if we are going to reach our potential. Period.

Your Mission: Because it is our obligation as women to pass on these lessons, and help other women and girls increase their self-confidence and opportunities with what we learn. Create an exponential effect with your knowledge.

1.  Understand the hard-hitting facts behind the value of women and girls in society, and the role we can play in bringing that value to the forefront.

2.  Learn how to build your group of “5” (the magic number) professional supporters through a #sisU plan.

3.  Discover how to claim time in our daily lives for our #sisU plan (aka creating a little impenetrable oasis for ourselves).

4.  Pay it forward to others, creating a measurable and meaningful impact while helping women and girls.

5.  Learn about success factors for women and their careers, including research and solutions on balance, communication, prioritization, negotiation, and self-confidence, as taught in the award-winning Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership class at the George Washington University School of Business, Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence and featured in the Washington Post Magazine articleCEO of ME Inc.

I think you should have a Sisterhood of Success Auxiliary. (for men who believe in and support women.) Like in earlier days when every male organization had an auxiliary for the wives to belong to. Unfortunately those were often just so they’d have someone to cook the weekly club dinner for them but there’s no reason you can’t re-purpose it!

I hope you get tons of interest for your class.

It is easy to see how it would help many women I know.

    1. This sounds fabulous and I would be interested in attending. As a newly divorced “hot momma” of three children who is trying to reinvent herself both personally and professionally I think this is just what I need!

      1. Perfection. Thank you Courtney for your interest. Congrats – and may the force be with you – on the recent proceedings. This IS a great re-staring ground, but very focused on your inner circle professionally. For literal career re-entry, be sure to check out Momentum Resources (one of our 2010 winners, Jennifer Folsom, runs the DC office) and Detours and OnRamps seminar in NoVa Oct 19.

    1. Thanks! I am going to open registration when I sense there is enough interest. Also, I need to confirm the room reservation at GW, and that folks are cool with a Saturday (Oct 9) from 8.30 to 12. I will let you know.

  2. Every woman in the world should attend this workshop. Having a personal focus group and board of advisors – this inner circle – is something we, as women, need so badly. To learn how to garner that support and do something meaningful with it would be like gold.

    1. Thanks Lydia. After this the idea is to build the capability to hold Sisterhood U #sisU in other areas of the country and world. We’ll be looking for big fans (like you) with ideally corporate AND entreprenerial experience, an ability to connect with women and girls, and university connections (so start guest lecturing NOW!) Next step: Canada!

    1. Excellent. There will be an entire curriculum and program helping you. Also, there will be a little “pre event” homework (it’s easy) we’ll send out before 10.9.

  3. I just signed up for this workshop…I look forward to attending. I see this is an old post but hopefully, you are still moving forward.
