Here’s Angela:
Angela did a really great job on a project for a client. Angela didn’t think much of it, until she saw someone else getting a pat on the back for their work. “Why aren’t I getting a pat on the back?” Angela wondered.
Status: Angela is alone, feeling a lack of self-confidence, and doubting her success.
Angela decided something needed to change, but she wasn’t sure how. She talked with her friend and co-worker Keysha. She always felt so great afterward.
Talking with Keysha made Angela feel like this:
Status: Angela feels supported, feels more self-confident, and empowered.
Getting together with friends or supporters makes us feel…well..better. The positive psychology movement tells us that individuals with five or more close friends are happier. Does this translate into our professional lives? Yes.

Just found your website and blog and I love it! I’ve long been a proponent of women helping other women. is great. I wish MORE women would purposefully find mentors. I am getting more and more calls and inquiries about “How do you find a mentor, and structure the relationship.” This makes me happy, because I think women won’t be truly successful without it.
