Networking: Something women CAN and SHOULD do as mentioned in an earlier C-Suite post.In the women’s leadership field, the GEM study is pretty much THE proof re: the critical importance of access to networks and role models for women.
Click here are some great stats from Guy Kawasaki on LinkedIn and networking.
Nice post. Guy is very good. However, Linkedin is not a site I would go for networking. LI is a site where you have a lot of different classes of people depending on your title and company you work for. If you truly want to network online and have support of connections, Twitter is the place to be. Twitter allows you real time interaction, a global cutlure world with all different opinions, ways of looking at various subjects. It helps to provide insight, knowledge and education on the different cultures and teaches you how to approach those cultures.
As we become a global community- it is imperative that we understand, especially as Americans, it is not about us, it is about everyone.
Do yourself a favor, don;t start with LI, have a presence, but not the main site you go to- also try Friendfeed.
Nice post Guy, but let’s get a little more real about true networking and being a Master Networker.
