CEO Dads and Top Tips for Women Leaders ‘Doing it All’

At the Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, Vermont I was happy to see 'CEO Dad' by Tom Stern in the business section (As well as some other evolved cross-over titles that you will see in the photo). It's a step toward acknowledging reality. I've always felt that Corporate America desperately, and secretly, wants to cover its eyes and stick its head in the sand regarding anything that happens outside of the office. Many thoughts on this topic, but, on with the facts.

Not-yet published results of our Hot Mommas Project survey indicate successful female mentors would communicate 3 to 4 pieces of advice to women (and not just moms, mind you) trying to balance multiple priorities..or, as we like to say, to max out on their 'Life Business Model'. The short version of this advice is:

1. Attitude-get and keep the right and positive and 'I can do it' attitude. (and tactics for what to think and do to acquire and maintain this mental perspective).

2. Prioritize – understand what is most important to you (and tips for how to develop a system around these priorities).

3. Focus – 'what is the bullseye?' One survey respondent mentioned(plus tips from all respondents on how to focus and maintain this focus).

4. Get help – asking for it, hiring it, whatever it takes (plus various types of help, and what is most assistive to busy individuals)

Would this be different for the CEO Dad? We are looking into this with our upcoming 'Cool Daddies' survey. For more info or to get on alert list, go to www.HotMommas.org.
