It’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At the Hot Mommas Project, there’s not a better time to honor the inspirational bold women of breast cancer who are creating awareness, comfort, funds, and fight for all of us.
Got a “Girl on Fire” in your life? Want to help one? Now’s your chance.
Here’s what you’ll need:
A few braincells
A good soul
Two – three sentences (250 words or less, please)
March 8 is International Women’s Day. In celebration of that, and our nominated Hot Mommas Project case authors, we’d like to know:
What’s the #1 piece of wisdom you’d share with a “Girl on Fire”? Aka – a high potential girl emerging to a young woman.
When Nigella Lawson – famous British chef – refused to airbrush her stomach for a TV promotion… many probably thought “A – MEN!”
Whether you think Nigella has much to air brush or not, the point is this: Nigella is honest. And her choice to be honest matters, a lot. It represents confidence and comfort and acceptance in and of herself. She is a role model for girls and women in this way. And we need that. Why?
Eating disorder statistics provided by the National Eating Disorder Association indicate that 10 million American women suffer from eating disorders.
The Hot Mommas Project is an award-winning leadership project increasing confidence of women and girls through exposure to role models. Our founder teaches the nationally award winning Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership at the George Washington University School of Business, Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
You don’t have to be a momma to be a “Hot Momma”:
All dynamic women over 18 may share their story.
….Chelsea is a college student battling lupus.
….Mercedes is an exchange student with a small rural town in her rear view, and a masters degree in her future.
…Brenda is a CEO who was told “you can’t.”
…Jennifer was told “You can,” but – right now – is wondering if she really can.
What is your story?

Susan Niebur – our Hot Mommas Project Winner of our 2011 STEM Category (Science, Tech, Engineering, and Math) – passed away yesterday. She is accomplished, well-known, and well-liked in professional, social media, and personal realms. But there are two things I am compelled to share with you here:
I’m in a group called “Circle.” Here, each month, eight of us confide about business and personal matters to trusted advisors. It pretty much rocks. Kassie Rempel is one of the members. Today, I received what I deemed a “Circle 911” from another member of the group.
